About
I am currently researching Grey-headed and Black Flying-foxes, Sulphur-crested Cockatoos and continue to research Australian white ibis. My research looks at the ecology of these species within urban environments.
The Australian white ibis are a native species which has increased in numbers in urban areas, resulting with a human-wildlife conflict. Specifically, ibis are exploiting the abundant food (e.g. landfills), water and habitat of urban areas and commonly scavenge food from people and nest within close proximity to dwellings.
I am researching the urban ecology of ibis through population surveys of marked birds (bands and wing-tags) and radio tracking to improve our understanding of the populations habitat use, reproduction and seasonal variation.
